Here is another fun Christmas STEM challenge for your kiddos to try out this holiday season, the Gum Drop Tree Challenge! If you missed my first Christmas STEM challenge, the Jingle Bell Maze, you can find it here.
In my first Christmas STEM challenge post, you can learn all about what STEM stands for. You can also find a free download for the Engineer Design Process as well.

The Problem: How can I create the tallest possible Christmas Tree with gum drops and toothpicks?
Step 1: Provide your child with the necessary materials and optional engineer design process planning sheet.
Step 2: Tell your child their challenge/problem.
Step 3: Let your child imagine, plan, and create their gum drop tree!
Step 4: Have your child measure their gum drop tree. Could they make any changes or improvements to build a taller tree?
Step 5: Let your child build and measure their tree at least 3 times. Were they able to make a taller tree?
