Stuck inside? Try this fun science activity! WARNING: Making Oobleck is messy but fun!
Oobleck is a non-Newtonian fluid. What does that mean? It becomes solid under pressure and flows like a liquid without pressure! This makes it very fascinating to play with!
How to Make Oobleck

You will need:
- Measuring Cup
- Bowl
- Spoon
- 2 cups of cornstarch
- 1 cup of water
- Food Coloring (Optional)
Directions:
- In a bowl, mix 2 cups of cornstarch with 1 cup of water. Mix the water and cornstarch until your oobleck is formed.
- If you would like your oobleck to have a color, add your food coloring to your water before you mix it with the cornstarch.
- If you find that your oobleck mixture is too watery, add a little more cornstarch. If you find your oobleck mixture is not liquid-y enough, add a little more water. You may need to experiment a bit to find the right consistency.
NOTE: This is not like slime. You will need to keep the oobleck over a bowl, plate, or container since it goes back and forth between solid and liquid form.
