Fine Motor Rainbow Craft

It’s March and that means St Patrick’s Day and Spring are right around the corner! This fine motor rainbow craft is a perfect activity for your preschooler during the month of March.

You will need:

  • Construction Paper (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple)
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Cotton Balls
  • Rainbow Printable

Step 1: Print out the Rainbow Printable.

Step 2: Cut up construction paper into small pieces that will fit into the archs of the rainbow. Be sure to have plentiful amounts of each color of the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)

Step 3: Place liquid glue in the first arch for your child OR let your child use a glue stick for each piece as they place it on the rainbow. Help them to put the colors in the correct rainbow order.

Step 4: Place liquid glue in the clouds and let your child add cotton balls.

You now have a beautiful rainbow!

This craft is festive and fun for your child! Your child will work on fine motor skills as they pick up the small pieces of construction paper and glue them into the correct spots of the rainbow. They will work on color recognition and identification as you ask them to find specific colors for the rainbow.

Does your child love rainbows? This craft is also a beautiful one to display on the fridge. Go ahead and try out this easy craft during the month of March with your child!
