It’s officially fall! Pumpkin season! My kids LOVE pumpkins. Read below for some cheap, easy, and fun pumpkin activities for your kiddos!
Painting Pumpkins
You will need:
- Pumpkins
- Washable Paint
- Paintbrushes
- Paper Plates
My kids love to paint pumpkins! We choose to use washable paint so that we can paint the pumpkins again if we want to. If you do not want your paint to wash off, make sure to use acrylic paint on your pumpkins.
Washing Pumpkins
You will need:
- Painted Pumpkins
- Water
- Tear Free Soap
- Sponges/Brushes
I mentioned that we used washable paint in the painting pumpkins activity above… this is why! Who knew kids would enjoy washing pumpkins so much! I saw this pumpkin bath idea on Busy Toddler’s Instagram feed and we decided to give it a try. I’m glad that we did! We have been able to paint and wash the same pumpkin a few times, my kids LOVE it. I do recommend using tear free soap and a little scrubber brush from the Dollar Tree.
Roll & Stick Pumpkins
You will need:
- Printable Cube Template
- Scissors
- Glue
- Circle Stickers (6 Colors)
- Pumpkin
This activity was a big hit with my 2.5 and 3.5 year olds and it is SO simple. You can print a cube template (click here for a free template) onto cardstock. Once you cut and assemble the cube template, simply put a colored circle sticker on each side. Every time your child rolls the color cube, they will stick that color sticker onto their pumpkin. Not only was this fun, but it also is a great activity for color recognition and children use fine motor skills peeling the stickers off the paper. You could easily modify this to work on other skills!
